‘Online game that allows players to raise rice for the hungry with every correct answer, has provided almost 5 million meals’

As reported by the World Food Programme (WFP), the online game ‘Free Rice’ reached the 1 million player milestone this month, which has translated into nearly 100 billion grains of rice, or meals for nearly 5 million people since 2007.

When players answer trivia questions on literature and vocabulary correctly, they donate 10 grains of rice to the WFP.

“Beyond the remarkable benefits for those most in need, this is a significant milestone for WFP in our mission to engage millions of people online in the fight against hunger.”
